Samsung has expanded the stable One UI 9 update for the Galaxy A55 5G beyond South Korea, with the rollout now reaching India and Europe. The update is based on Android 17 and carries the October 2026 security patch. It brings the same One UI 9 feature set that has been reaching other Galaxy A-series phones, such as the Galaxy A57 and the Galaxy A56 and A36 in South Korea.

Samsung’s official firmware page confirms that the international Galaxy A55 variant, SM-A556E, received build A556EXXUIEZJ1 on October 26, with Android 17 and the October 5 security patch. The Europe build (A556BXXUIEZJ1) isn’t listed there, but users have reported the update in the Netherlands, Belgium and other European markets.
In India, the update is initially going to users who took part in the One UI 9 beta, which explains the small download of roughly 313MB since they’re moving up from a beta build. Users updating from One UI 8.5, like those in Europe, are seeing a much larger package of around 2.5GB. The stable release first started in South Korea on October 21.
To check for the update, go to Settings, then Software update, then Download and install. Keep the battery above 30% before installing. If the update doesn’t show up yet, it likely hasn’t reached your region or firmware variant, as Samsung rolls it out in stages.
