Apple is reportedly testing a display around 7 inches for its 20th-anniversary iPhone, expected in 2027 and often referred to as the iPhone 20. If the leaks hold up, this could be Apple’s biggest design overhaul since the iPhone X.
At roughly 7 inches, the panel would be noticeably larger than today’s Pro Max, offering more room for multitasking, video, and gaming though Apple is reportedly still testing multiple prototype sizes before settling on a final number.
Reports point to a four-edge curved OLED display developed with Samsung Display and LG Display, designed to create an almost bezel-free, “single sheet of glass” look unlike any current iPhone.
Several leaks claim Apple is testing under-display Face ID and a hidden front camera, which if it works could finally eliminate the Dynamic Island entirely for an uninterrupted screen.
Apple is reportedly evaluating magnesium-silver cathode technology for this generation, with a later shift to indium zinc oxide planned for future models to reduce distortion on curved panels.
This is prototype-stage testing, meaning the display size, design, and even individual features could change or get cut entirely before 2027. Chip specs, camera details, and pricing remain completely unknown.
