Samsung is expanding the stable One UI 9 update for the Galaxy A35 5G beyond South Korea, bringing Android 17 and the October 2026 security patch to more users. The rollout began in South Korea on October 21 for beta participants, and Tarun Vats reports that it has since reached additional markets, with India among the first. US carrier-locked models have also started receiving it. The update carries the same One UI 9 feature set as the Galaxy A56 and A36 and the Galaxy A37, which got it earlier.
| Detail | Information |
| Device | Samsung Galaxy A35 5G |
| Update | Stable One UI 9.0 (Android 17) |
| South Korea firmware | A356NKSUAEZJ2 |
| US carrier firmware | A356USQUCEZJ2 |
| Security patch | October 5, 2026 |
| Rollout | Gradual, varies by region and carrier |
Samsung’s firmware records list the US build, A356USQUCEZJ2, as an Android 17 update dated October 26 with the October 5 patch. The South Korean build is A356NKSUAEZJ2. Availability still depends on the model, region and carrier, so not every Galaxy A35 owner will see the update right away, and Samsung hasn’t published a country-by-country schedule.
This is the stable release rather than another beta. Samsung started it after wrapping up the One UI 9 beta program for the phone, which is why the first builds went to beta testers in South Korea.
The Galaxy A35 launched with Android 14, and Samsung promised four major Android upgrades and five years of security updates. Android 17 is therefore the phone’s third major upgrade, leaving one more within that commitment.
To check for the update, go to Settings, then Software update, then Download and install. If it doesn’t appear yet, the rollout likely hasn’t reached your device variant or region.
