Samsung Launches the Galaxy Card, Its First-Ever Credit Card in the US

Galaxy Card

Samsung is stepping into your wallet in a new way. The company has officially launched the Samsung Galaxy Card, its first U.S. credit card, built in partnership with Barclays and running on the Visa network. It’s a clear shot at Apple Card, and it leans heavily on getting you deeper into the Samsung ecosystem.

The card lives inside Samsung Wallet, where you can apply, activate, track spending, and manage rewards without leaving your Galaxy device. Non-Samsung users aren’t locked out entirely; Barclays’ own portal handles account management for anyone without a compatible phone.

Rewards scale based on where you’re spending: 5% back on purchases made directly from Samsung, 3% on Samsung Wallet purchases, 2% on streaming subscriptions, and 1% on everything else. There’s no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees, and new cardholders can earn a $200 bonus after spending $2,000 in the first 90 days.

Cardholders also get a 20% discount on Samsung’s VIP Advantage membership, which covers things like extended device protection and dedicated support.

Beyond the virtual card in Samsung Wallet, there’s also a physical Visa card made from recycled steel that still works even if you eventually switch away from a Galaxy phone.

With roughly 70% of U.S. households owning at least one Samsung device, the company has a massive built-in audience for this kind of ecosystem play. Samsung executive Sih Lee has signaled this is meant to be a long-term partnership with Barclays, with more financial products likely on the way.

Applications open July 22, 2026.
