Galaxy S26 Ultra Could Get a Price Hike Soon

Samsung is reportedly preparing to raise the price of the Galaxy S26 Ultra in India, according to tipster From X, who says the hike has been confirmed by his source and could be announced soon. The Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra are also said to be in line for price increases around the same time.

No exact new price or percentage increase has been shared yet, and Samsung itself hasn’t announced anything; the tipster’s claim of confirmation comes from his own source, not from Samsung directly. The safer way to read this for now is that a hike looks likely, not that one has actually happened.

If it does go through, it would mark the S26 Ultra’s first price increase in India since launch. Samsung notably kept the US starting price of the S26 Ultra flat at $1,299 when it launched in February, the same as the S25 Ultra, while raising the base S26 and S26+ by $100 each so the Ultra has so far been the one model Samsung held the line on. For the Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra, a price increase would be their first since launching earlier this year too.

The reasoning being floated is the same one behind nearly every Galaxy price adjustment this year: rising memory costs. Smartphone DRAM prices have climbed sharply through 2026 as AI data-center demand eats into global memory supply reportedly up around 56% in the first quarter and another 83% in the second. That’s plausible context given how many other Samsung devices have already seen India price hikes in 2026, but it’s still an inferred reason rather than something Samsung or the tipster has confirmed applies specifically to this increase.
