Realme 16T 5G Launches With an 8,000mAh Battery That Realme Claims Lasts Three Days

Realme just launched the 16T 5G in India today and the pitch is simple and direct. This phone has an 8,000mAh battery and Realme wants you to know about it.

The company is marketing it as a “3-day battery phone,” backing that claim with some specific numbers: 14.3 hours of gaming, 34 hours of social media, and 21.9 hours of GPS navigation on a single charge. Bold claims that real-world testing will eventually put to the test.

At 8.88mm thin despite the enormous cell inside, the engineering here is genuinely impressive. Silicon-carbon battery technology makes that slimness possible without compromising capacity and Realme adds bypass charging that routes power directly to the processor during gaming sessions, reducing heat while you play. The 45W SuperVOOC wired charging keeps top-up times reasonable for a battery this large.

The rest of the spec sheet is practical rather than flashy. MediaTek Dimensity 6300 handles the processing of a mid-range 5G chip focused on efficiency rather than benchmark glory. The 6.8-inch 144Hz LCD display at HD+ resolution is where most of the criticism online is landing at ₹29,999 starting price, buyers were expecting AMOLED and FHD+. The 50MP Sony IMX852 main sensor is a genuinely good camera component though, paired with AI tools including Portrait Glow, AI StyleMe, and Instant Clip for short-form content creation.

IP66, IP68, and IP69 triple water resistance plus military-grade durability certification is extremely rare at this price point and arguably the 16T’s second biggest selling point after the battery.

Available in Starlight Black and Starlight Red on Flipkart and Realme’s website from today, with launch offers bringing prices down by approximately ₹3,000.

If battery life and durability matter more to you than raw performance and display quality the Realme 16T 5G makes a genuinely compelling case at this price.
