Motorola just launched the Edge 70 Max in India, and it’s swinging hard at flagship territory with a battery that puts most competitors to shame. Announced today, the phone pairs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 with a massive 7,100mAh silicon-carbon battery one of the largest ever packed into a Motorola flagship while still managing to stay slim.
The display alone is worth talking about: a 6.82-inch Quad HD+ LTPO AMOLED panel with a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate and peak brightness hitting a blistering 7,000 nits, wrapped in Gorilla Glass protection. Pair that with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, and you’ve got a phone built for people who push their hardware.
Motorola’s leaning heavily into AI this generation too, with a new cross-device platform called Qira that syncs context across Motorola phones, Lenovo tablets, and Lenovo PCs think chat assistance, content creation tools, and a “catch me up” feature for staying on top of notifications without digging through every app.
On the camera side, it’s a 50MP Sony LYTIA 710 main sensor with OIS backed by an 8MP ultra-wide, plus a 32MP front camera for selfies, all tuned with AI scene optimization.
But the real headline is charging. Motorola says an 8-minute top-up can deliver up to 12 hours of use, thanks to 90W wired TurboPower charging alongside 25W Qi2.2 magnetic wireless charging making this one of the first Android phones to adopt Qi2.2 at all.
It starts at ₹54,999 in India, with UK and European availability confirmed at £699.99 / €799.99. No word yet on a U.S. release.
