Apple will reportedly begin producing the standard iPhone 18 in late November, according to Weibo leaker Fixed Focus Digital. The leaker described the inventory Apple is preparing as “quite large,” but gave no unit figures. Apple hasn’t confirmed the schedule or its production targets.
| Detail | Report |
| Production start | Late November 2026 |
| Volume | “Quite large,” no numbers given |
| Expected launch | Spring 2027 |
| Launching alongside | iPhone 18e, and possibly iPhone Air 2 |
A late-November start would give Apple several months to build stock ahead of a spring launch. That fits the split schedule in which the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max arrived in September, while the standard iPhone 18 is expected to follow in spring 2027 with the iPhone 18e. Whether the iPhone Air 2 joins that window isn’t confirmed.
Production plans don’t guarantee sales, but a large run would match how the standard model has been selling. Counterpoint Research reported that the standard iPhone 17 was the world’s best-selling phone in both the first and second quarters of 2026, with about 6% of global unit sales in each, and that it outsold the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max. The picture for the Pro models is less certain, since Apple has reportedly cut some iPhone 18 Pro component orders after weaker demand than expected.
Reports so far describe a broadly similar design for the standard iPhone 18, with a smaller Dynamic Island, an A20 chip and Apple’s C2 modem. These come from earlier rumors rather than this leak, and our roundup of what’s rumored for the iPhone 18 covers the rest, including expected pricing.
