Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max have reportedly moved into full-scale mass production at Foxconn’s Zhengzhou facility, often nicknamed “iPhone City,” signaling that this year’s flagship launch remains on track for its usual September debut.
Supply-chain sources say Foxconn has kicked off its annual hiring surge, offering returning workers bonuses up to 7,500 yuan (roughly $1,045) and hourly wages near 27 yuan to staff the production lines in time for global shipping.
This seasonal ramp-up isn’t new. Foxconn brings on tens of thousands of temporary workers every summer to build the first wave of iPhones. The shift from earlier “trial production” testing into full assembly is typically one of the last checkpoints before an official Apple announcement.
Leaks point to a next-gen A20 chip possibly built on a 2nm process, a variable-aperture camera system, a custom C2 modem, and a slightly smaller Dynamic Island. Design-wise, expect a marginally thicker, heavier body rather than a dramatic overhaul with some chatter that a black/dark gray finish could once again be missing from the color lineup.
None of this is official. Apple hasn’t confirmed specs, pricing, or a release date. But mass production starting now strongly suggests a September unveiling is still the plan.
