Apple has released the first iOS 27.3 and iPadOS 27.3 developer betas,. The betas arrived on November 3, about a week after Apple released iOS 27.2 with new Siri AI languages and an Apple Music redesign, and Apple says iOS 27.3 will reach everyone in December. The biggest planned change is Apple Intelligence for iPhones in China, but the beta also brings some new features for everyone else.

Apple’s China announcement lists Writing Tools, Genmoji, Clean Up, Notification Summaries, Priority Notifications, Visual Intelligence and Live Translation with AirPods. They work on the iPhone 15 Pro and newer, with the iPhone and Siri set to English or Simplified Chinese, and Apple has partnered with Alibaba so that Qwen powers parts of Siri, Writing Tools and Visual Intelligence. It isn’t the full feature set: the Siri AI features announced at WWDC 2026 and Image Playground are left out, and Apple Intelligence on Mac, iPad and other devices in China waits for regulatory approval. Apple’s announcement gave November 4 as the beta date, which is November 3 in the US.
Outside China, early hands-on coverage points to a few additions in the betas. Siri AI can reportedly handle tasks in about 15 apps, such as unsubscribing from mailing lists in Mail, clearing history and managing tabs in Safari, and managing the weather list, and it is expanding to Traditional Chinese, Vietnamese, Turkish and Norwegian. Safari is getting a Vertical Tabs layout and an Adaptive Dark Mode for sites without one. Four StandBy features that debuted on the iPhone Duo are also reportedly coming to the iPhone 11 and newer, including new Calendar and Weather faces and multiple versions of each clock face. These come from reports on the betas, not an Apple changelog, so they could change before the release.
Several things are still missing. The redesigned Health app, which Apple pulled during the iOS 27.2 testing and said would return later this year, hasn’t reappeared, and neither has reachability on the iPhone Duo, which also got Apple Pencil support with iOS 27.2 sooner than expected. The Safari feature that uses Apple Intelligence to fix weak passwords hasn’t returned either. RCS for Australia’s Telstra could come with iOS 27.3, but that rests on a Telstra support document that was later deleted and said an iOS update was coming in December, so treat it as unconfirmed.
The beta is meant for testing and may be buggy or drain the battery, so a secondary device is the safer choice. Developers can get it from Settings, General, Software Update, then Beta Updates.
