Galaxy A38 5G Leak Points to a Bigger Battery: Rated 5,882mAh, Likely Sold as 6,000mAh

Galaxy A38

Samsung’s Galaxy A38 5G could get a noticeably larger battery than the Galaxy A37 5G, according to GalaxyClub. The listing points to a 6,000mAh battery with a rated capacity of 5,882mAh, compared with 5,000mAh on the A37. Samsung hasn’t announced the A38 or confirmed any of its specifications.

The percentage depends on which number you use. Comparing 5,882mAh with 5,000mAh gives about 17.6%, while 6,000mAh against 5,000mAh gives 20%, and reports use both. Samsung usually advertises the rounded figure, which is why the A38 would likely be marketed as 6,000mAh. It would be a real change for the A series, which has stuck with 5,000mAh across several generations, but battery life also depends on the chip, display and software, and there are no test results yet.

Charging may not improve. The leak suggests the phone keeps 45W wired charging, the same as the A37, so the gain would be in capacity and not in speed. The camera hardware is also reported to carry over from the A37, and an earlier Korean report said the A38 might use the cheaper A27 OLED panel, which has lower peak brightness and no HDR10+. That would be a downgrade, though it’s still unconfirmed. The processor and price haven’t been reported.

Current reports point to a March or April 2027 launch, possibly alongside the Galaxy A58, so there is a long wait ahead. Samsung is meanwhile busy with newer software on other mid-range phones, such as the second One UI 9.5 test build for the Galaxy A57.
