Apple has released iOS 27 Developer Beta 4, alongside matching updates for iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. Unlike earlier betas packed with new features, this one is mostly about polish as Apple gears up for September’s stable release.
The most talked-about change is on the Siri front several classic Siri voices have returned alongside the newer AI-powered options, and the “Expressive Voices Preview” toggle has quietly disappeared.
Beyond voices, Beta 4 tackles a handful of Siri reliability issues from earlier builds, including faster response times, fixes for Siri failing with AirPods, and better behavior in CarPlay.
This build leans hard into refinement: smoother animations, better memory management, fewer random crashes, and quicker app launches. Some Shortcuts automations are still reportedly misbehaving for certain testers, so it’s not entirely bug-free yet.
Apple Intelligence and Siri AI continue getting incremental improvements to conversation quality and app integration, though no major new headline features have landed since earlier betas.
