Samsung has officially introduced One UI 8.5, bringing a new wave of AI-driven and ecosystem improvements aimed at making Galaxy devices more intuitive and connected. The update is currently rolling out in beta, initially targeting the Galaxy S25 series in select markets.

The biggest highlight is the overhauled Bixby, which has evolved into a more conversational device agent. Users can now control their phones using natural language instead of memorizing exact menu paths or commands. The assistant understands intent and can adjust settings or answer device-related questions more intelligently.
Samsung is also doubling down on Galaxy AI features. The updated Photo Assist allows continuous AI image editing without forcing users to save each step, while Quick Share now recognizes people in photos and suggests contacts for faster sharing.

Cross-device connectivity gets a boost as well. New features like Storage Share surface files from other Galaxy devices directly inside the My Files app, and Audio Broadcast enables voice or media streaming to nearby Auracast-compatible devices.

Security improvements are part of the package. One UI 8.5 adds stronger theft protection, including Failed Authentication Lock, which automatically locks the phone after repeated failed unlock attempts, along with expanded identity verification controls.
