Samsung has acknowledged a One UI 9.0 bug on the Galaxy S26 Ultra that pushes the lock screen clock away from the position users selected. The confirmed problem is tied to Good Lock’s ClockFace customization, and it is separate from the freezing and black-screen complaints that have also surfaced since the update.
The issue was reported on Samsung’s Korean Community forum on September 21 by an S26 Ultra owner who had just updated. In LockStar, the time and date sat close together as intended, but on the actual lock screen and Always-On Display the date drifted far from the time, and the whole clock moved almost to the top edge of the screen. Samsung’s Good Lock support team replied on September 22, confirming it had reproduced the bug with clocks from ClockFace and that its developers are investigating. One commenter in the thread said they had seen the same behavior on the S26 Ultra’s One UI 9 beta, and others reportedly noticed it on the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
| Detail | Status |

| Software | One UI 9.0 |
| Affected feature | Good Lock ClockFace (lock screen and Always-On Display) |
| Reported | September 21 |
| Samsung response | September 22, under investigation |
| Fix | No fix or release date announced |
Samsung’s advice for now is to switch to one of the clock styles built into the phone instead of a ClockFace style. If the positioning problem still appears with a default clock, affected users should send an error report with diagnostic logs right after it happens, so the team has something concrete to work with.
Some users in Samsung’s community have also mentioned missing widgets and Always-On Display or fingerprint-icon problems after updating, but those are user reports and haven’t been linked to this bug. The same goes for a separate S26 Ultra owner who said their phone froze and stayed black for roughly four to five minutes after the One UI 9 update, with a forced restart temporarily clearing it. Samsung’s reply covers only the ClockFace positioning issue, so switching clock styles shouldn’t be expected to fix freezes or reboots.
The bug surfaces as Samsung keeps widening the stable One UI 9 rollout, which recently reached the Galaxy S24 series in the US and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 globally, while the beta track is still sorting out its own issues, such as the restarts after a software upgrade that One UI 9 Beta 3 for the Galaxy A15 5G addresses.
