MediaTek has officially launched the Dimensity 7100, a new 6 nm 5G system-on-chip (SoC) aimed at the mid-range smartphone segment that brings significant performance, connectivity and imaging capabilities to mainstream 5G devices. The chipset is now listed on MediaTek’s product page and is slated to appear in upcoming phones from various brands.
The Dimensity 7100 is built on an advanced 6 nm fabrication process that delivers a balanced mix of power efficiency and performance, with MediaTek claiming up to 5 % better power efficiency in apps, 16 % more efficient multimedia playback, and 23 % modem power savings compared with its predecessors. A new power-management system also supports 45 W fast charging and the UFCS universal charging standard, as well as lower voltage operation for longer battery life.
At the heart of the Dimensity 7100 is an octa-core CPU configured with four Arm Cortex-A78 performance cores clocked up to 2.4 GHz and four Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at up to 2.0 GHz, which together aim to offer smooth everyday performance and responsive multitasking. The SoC pairs this with an Arm Mali-G610 MC2 GPU, which MediaTek states can deliver up to 8 % faster graphics performance than the previous generation, improving gaming and media experiences on mid-range devices.
On the 5G connectivity front, the chipset incorporates an integrated 3GPP Release-16 modem capable of peak downlink speeds up to 3.3 Gbps and supporting carrier aggregation across mixed bands, giving devices robust global 5G support. MediaTek 5G UltraSave 3.0+ technology helps reduce battery drain during sustained 5G use. Wireless connectivity also includes Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 with coexistence enhancements for reliable connections.
Camera and imaging capabilities are a strong suit of the Dimensity 7100: the ISP supports up to 200 MP camera sensors, enabling phones to capture extremely high-resolution photos with advanced HDR video capture, multi-frame noise reduction (MFNR) and hardware-accelerated face detection. Display support includes up to 120 Hz refresh rates and 10-bit colour depth with full HDR playback, offering smooth animations and vibrant visuals.
In terms of memory and storage, the Dimensity 7100 supports LPDDR5 RAM up to 5500 Mbps and UFS 3.1 storage, helping enhance app loading, multitasking and overall system responsiveness. The chipset also offers broad GNSS support for precise positioning.
MediaTek has yet to announce specific devices that will ship with the Dimensity 7100, but industry observers expect it to power a new generation of mid-range 5G smartphones from brands like Realme, Xiaomi, Infinix and more in early 2026 as manufacturers seek efficient performance, strong camera support and modern connectivity in affordable packages
In summary, the official Dimensity 7100 brings:
• A 6 nm 5G platform with balanced performance and power efficiency.
• Octa-core CPU (Cortex-A78 + A55) and Mali-G610 MC2 GPU for everyday use and gaming.
• 5G modem with Release-16 support and UltraSave 3.0+ power-saving tech.
• 200 MP camera support, HDR imaging and advanced ISP features.
• 120 Hz display and 10-bit HDR support for immersive visuals.
• LPDDR5 & UFS 3.1 support for faster memory and storage.
