Tonight is the night Apple either delivers on two years of AI promises or faces another round of disappointed headlines. WWDC 2026 kicks off at 10 AM Pacific Time (1 PM Eastern, 12 PM Central, 11 AM Mountain) and the stakes couldn’t be higher. Macworld called this Apple’s “do-or-over” moment. Morgan Stanley says investor expectations are low, which cuts both ways any genuinely impressive AI reveal could move the stock significantly.
Here’s everything expected when Tim Cook takes the stage in what is widely reported to be his last WWDC keynote as Apple CEO.
Siri gets the biggest overhaul in its history. The rebuilt assistant runs on a custom 1.2 trillion-parameter Google Gemini model under a deal Bloomberg puts at approximately $1 billion annually. Expect chatbot-style interactions, on-screen awareness, multi-command processing, and a complete visual redesign of a drop-down interface from the Dynamic Island replacing the familiar glowing orb. A standalone Siri app syncing conversations across devices via iCloud is also expected. Third-party AI assistants including Google Gemini and Anthropic’s Claude may gain access to handle complex queries iOS can’t manage alone.
iOS 27 takes a stabilization approach, faster performance, better battery life, fewer bugs. Think iOS 12’s reliability focus. New AI photo tools arrive: Extend, Reframe, Enhance, and Clean Up. Safari gets AI tab organization and a redesigned start page. Wallet adds receipt-scanning for group bill splitting. Home Screen gets undo and redo controls finally. The keyboard gets a new sliding animation. Notifications now swipe in from the left.
macOS 27 likely named “Big Bear” based on a filename discovered in Apple’s WWDC hashtag graphic drops Intel Mac support entirely. Apple Silicon only from here. Liquid Glass transparency and text readability issues from last year’s redesign are reportedly being addressed.
watchOS 27 brings AI health features, improved heart rate tracking, and the Ultra’s Modular watch face coming to standard Apple Watch models.
Developer betas drop immediately after tonight’s keynote. Public beta arrives in July. Final release comes autumn 2026 alongside iPhone 18.
