Galaxy A06 5G Gets Stable One UI 9, Bringing Android 17 to Samsung’s Cheapest 5G A-Series Phone

Samsung has started rolling out stable One UI 9 for the Galaxy A06 5G, with India and a few other markets among the first to get it. The firmware is A066BXXU8DZJ7, and it arrives right after the Galaxy A15 5G’s stable One UI 9 expanded beyond South Korea. Samsung hasn’t announced the rollout, and the report doesn’t name the other countries.

The size is the part worth planning for. One report puts the package at roughly 2.83GB, which is large for a phone with limited storage, so free up space and use a stable Wi-Fi connection before downloading it. That figure and the October 5 patch level come from update records we couldn’t check directly, so they should be treated as reported details until more owners confirm them.

The changes in Samsung’s One UI 9 notes for budget Galaxy phones are mostly the standard ones: more control over rearranging the Quick Panel, a quick lock that blocks biometric unlock after you press Volume down and Side together, a location indicator, and new accessibility tools such as Text spotlight and Select to speak. Some features on Samsung’s flagship phones may not be available on this model.

The report covers the A06 5G only. The Galaxy A06 4G is a different phone, and nothing in the report says it has received One UI 9. The same report also mentions the Galaxy A07 5G, which has started getting the update in Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines, and the Galaxy XCover 7, which is live in Malaysia. Other budget and mid-range phones are already ahead, such as the Galaxy A54 and the Galaxy A17 4G.

If you own an A06 5G, open Settings, tap Software update, then Download and install. Rollouts happen in stages, so it may not show up for everyone right away.
