Samsung has started rolling out a second October update for the Galaxy S26 series in South Korea, according to Kailash. The new firmware ends in BZJB and arrives about a month after the S26 series got stable One UI 9, following the first October update earlier this month. Samsung’s changelog points to stability and security-related changes, but it hasn’t listed any individual fixes.
| Detail | Info |
| Models | Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra |
| Firmware | S94xNKSU5BZJB (S942NKSU5BZJB listed for the base S26) |
| Region | South Korea first |
| Download size | About 580MB |
| Security patch | October 2026, unchanged from the first update |
| Official changelog | Stability and security code applied |
| Specific fixes | Not listed by Samsung |
| Other regions | Expected in the coming days, not confirmed |
The release notes say stabilization code improves device stability related to general operations, and that Google and Samsung security fixes for October 2026 are applied. One report also mentions a bootloader upgrade for added security. Because the patch level stays at October, this isn’t the November patch, and users shouldn’t expect a new set of security fixes beyond what the first update already brought. Samsung also warns that after installing, you can’t roll back to a version with a lower security patch level.
One report says the update could address the setup-screen freeze that some Galaxy S26 Ultra owners hit, but Samsung’s changelog doesn’t confirm that, so there is no basis yet to say it fixes that or any particular battery or performance problem. The S26 Ultra has had other One UI 9 issues too, including the Good Lock ClockFace bug that moves the lock screen clock, which Samsung has confirmed.
If you own an S26 phone, open Settings, tap Software update, then Download and install. Outside South Korea the update hasn’t appeared yet, and rollout timing can differ by model, market and carrier, so it may take a few days.
