Galaxy A57 5G Gets September 2026 Security Update

Samsung has started rolling out the September 2026 security update for the Galaxy A57 5G, with the rollout confirmed in India and listed directly on Samsung’s firmware database.

This is a security-only release — Samsung’s changelog for the update simply notes improved security, without any new features or One UI changes attached. The September package itself covers a large batch of fixes: 19 critical and 38 high-severity Google Android vulnerabilities, plus 31 Samsung-specific SVEs and additional Samsung Semiconductor fixes. On the Samsung side, patched components include GalaxyDiagnostics, SettingsProvider, SystemUI, ImsService, and media/subtitle processing, among others — some of the flagged vulnerabilities could have allowed attackers to access sensitive data, write outside allocated memory, or run code with elevated privileges under specific conditions.

The A57 is moving up from its previous firmware, A576BXXS5AZH3, which carried the August patch and released back on September 3. That’s a fairly tight turnaround, and it fits a pattern — the A57 has picked up a security patch every month this year without skipping, running January through September in step with each month’s release.

As usual, the rollout isn’t simultaneous everywhere. Samsung distributes firmware region by region, and availability can vary further by carrier and exact model variant, so an A57 owner not seeing the update yet isn’t necessarily a sign of a problem. Installing it once it’s available just means checking Settings, then Software update, then Download and install.

It’s worth being clear that this update doesn’t move the A57 to One UI 9 — the phone stays on Android 16 here, even as Samsung continues expanding its separate One UI 9 beta program to more Galaxy devices, including other phones further down the A-series lineup. The September security patch and the One UI 9 upgrade are two entirely separate tracks for now.
