The rumored iPhone Ultra’s color lineup just got a lot more specific, and one of the shades is a genuine surprise. Camera protectors made for the unreleased phone have surfaced in silver and a very dark blue, according to reports tracking third-party accessory leaks. That’s a meaningful shift from earlier rumors, which had pointed to dark gray or black instead of blue.
The silver option lines up with what’s already been floated, essentially a white or light-silver finish that fits Apple’s usual pattern of offering a light, safe color alongside something bolder. The dark blue is the one worth paying attention to. Reports describe it as noticeably deep, not a bright navy or anything close to the blue Apple has used on past iPhones, which suggests Apple may be finalizing a distinct, moodier shade rather than recycling an existing color from the lineup.
The catch is where this information is coming from. Camera protectors are made by third-party accessory manufacturers working off early supply-chain measurements and color references, not off confirmed Apple marketing materials. That makes them a decent proxy for what colors are in production, since accessory makers need real specs to build real products, but it’s not the same as Apple locking in retail colors. Plans can and do change between now and an official unveiling.
Still, a shift from black to dark blue this specific isn’t the kind of detail accessory leaks usually get wrong. If you’re holding out for a colorway before deciding on the iPhone Ultra, dark blue is now worth adding to your shortlist.
