Samsung Could Launch 8 Flagship Phones in 2027, Including 4 Foldables

Samsung is reportedly plotting its biggest flagship year yet, and the number that’s turning heads is eight. According to a Korean industry report, corroborated separately by several other outlets, Samsung’s 2027 lineup would include four foldables: a Z Flip9, Z Fold9, Z Fold9 Ultra and a Z TriFold 2 alongside four traditional Galaxy S27 models.

The S27 Pro is the real structural change. The Galaxy S27 Pro is reportedly intended as a more compact alternative to the Galaxy S27 Ultra, with a 6.47-inch display, slotting in as a fourth tier alongside the S27, S27+, and Ultra something Samsung’s S-series hasn’t done before, moving up from three models to four the way the Galaxy S26 lineup was structured. It’s a page pulled straight from Apple’s playbook, where a Pro tier sits below the top-end model without matching its full spec sheet.

The foldable side is where the bigger swing lives. All four foldables are expected to launch together around July 2027, with the TriFold 2 retaining a 9.96-inch main screen in a 4:3 aspect ratio, alongside a roughly 6.49-inch cover display and a chipset expected to match the S27 Ultra. That continuity matters because the original Z TriFold wasn’t built for volume Samsung reportedly produced only around 30,000 units of the first-gen device as a limited, ultra-premium test run. Multiple reports now suggest Samsung plans to scale up manufacturing significantly for the sequel if the format proves it can sell beyond a niche audience.

Nothing here is official, and Samsung hasn’t confirmed the S27 Pro, the eight-device count, or any TriFold 2 specifications. But the scale of the plan says something on its own: Samsung went from two foldables a year to three in 2026, and doubling that again to four suggests the company sees real demand building for tri-fold and Ultra-tier foldables rather than treating them as one-off experiments. If this holds, 2027 buyers will have more Samsung flagship tiers to choose from than at any point in the Galaxy S line’s history which also means more room for confusion about which model is actually worth the money.
