Samsung’s One UI 9.5 beta may start earlier than the One UI 8.5 beta did, which points to earlier internal testing and a redesigned beta banner in Samsung Members. Samsung hasn’t announced a beta date, and the reasoning is a comparison with last year’s schedule, not a promise. The Galaxy S26 series has been in testing since Samsung began working on One UI 9.5 for it in August, and its newest test build is the firmware spotted for the Galaxy S26 Ultra.
| Detail | Status |
| Beta date | Not announced |
| Expected window | Late November or early December, per recent reports |
| First phones | Galaxy S26 series, expected |
| Stable debut | Galaxy S27 series, early 2027 |
| First S26 test firmware | Spotted around August 10 |
| Samsung Members banner | Redesigned October 22, no mention of One UI 9.5 |
The first argument is timing. One UI 9.5 firmware for the Galaxy S26 series was first spotted around August 10, and the report says the first One UI 8.5 builds for the Galaxy S25 appeared around mid-September 2025, which we couldn’t verify independently. The mid-range phones tell a similar story. The first One UI 9.5 test build for the Galaxy A57 appeared on October 7, a day after stable One UI 9 reached it in South Korea, while the One UI 8.5 test build for the Galaxy A56 didn’t show up until December 2025, around the time the One UI 8.5 beta opened for the Galaxy S25. A newer A57 build has since appeared, which we covered in the second One UI 9.5 test build for the Galaxy A57.
The second clue is the banner. On October 22, Samsung redesigned the beta-program banner at the bottom of the Samsung Members home screen, and it now reads “Be the first to try the latest version of One UI.” It doesn’t mention One UI 9.5, give a date or open registration, so it could be a simple visual change and not a sign that a beta is imminent.
Reports have given different windows for the beta. An earlier estimate pointed to early November, which has passed without any announcement, and more recent reports point to late November or early December. Neither is official. An earlier beta also doesn’t mean an earlier stable release: the One UI 9.5 stable release is still expected to debut with the Galaxy S27 series in early 2027, with older phones following.
Early builds have shown a frosted interface, a native App Lock, smoother animations and a redesigned fingerprint setup screen, though Samsung could change or drop any of them. We covered the most requested one in One UI 9.5 could finally bring App Lock. The beta list isn’t published either, so the Galaxy S26 series is an expectation, not an announcement.
