Vivo S2 India Launch Confirmed for August 6

The vivo S-series is finally coming back to India after a six-year absence, and this time it’s more than just a teaser video. vivo has confirmed the vivo S2 launch date as August 6, with an Amazon microsite already live a step beyond the speculation-only phase this rumor sat in for weeks.

The chipset debate that’s dogged this leak seems to be settling too. Earlier reports pointed to a Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, but recent leaks have converged on MediaTek’s Dimensity 7360 instead, the same chip powering the Vivo V70 FE, which fits a lot better with the sub-₹45,000 pricing being floated than a flagship Snapdragon would.

On cameras, the S2 is expected to skip a telephoto lens entirely, pairing a 50MP main sensor with an 8MP ultrawide, though both the front and rear cameras are tipped to support 4K recording, a useful spec for anyone shooting content rather than just taking snapshots. The display is expected to be a 3D curved 1.5K AMOLED panel at 120Hz, and design leaks show a horizontal camera module echoing the recent X300 FE.

Even the color lineup has been in flux: leaked dummy units reportedly show black and rose gold options, contradicting earlier leaks that pointed to Sapphire Blue, Regal Bronze, and Silk White. Pricing estimates still bounce between roughly ₹40,000 and ₹50,000 depending on the source, so nothing there is locked in either.

vivo hasn’t published a full spec sheet yet, and the price remains unofficial. But with a confirmed date and a live retail page, the S2 has moved past rumor territory. The real question left is which chipset and camera claims survive contact with vivo’s actual press release on August 6.
