Vivo X300 Ultra and X300 FE Officially Launch in India

The X300 Ultra and X300 FE officially launched in India today, May 6 marking the first time Vivo has brought an Ultra flagship to the country. Sales open May 14, and the two phones couldn’t be more different in what they’re trying to do.

The X300 Ultra is a camera statement. A 200MP Sony LYTIA main sensor, 200MP periscope telephoto, and 50MP ultrawide all tuned by ZEISS sit inside a phone powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Support for external 200mm and 400mm telephoto lenses pushes it firmly into professional photography territory. The 6.82-inch 2K AMOLED at 144Hz and a massive battery with 100W-class charging complete a package priced at ₹1,59,999 expensive, but not without reason.

The X300 FE is the smarter buy for most people. Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 6.31-inch LTPO AMOLED at 120Hz, 6500mAh battery with 90W wired and 40W wireless charging, and a 50MP periscope telephoto that punches well above its ₹79,999 starting price. It’s a genuinely capable flagship that gives up relatively little versus the Ultra for half the money.

Both run Android 16 with OriginOS and carry Vivo’s promise of 5 years of OS updates and 7 years of security patches with strong long-term support for a brand not always known for it.

Sales start May 14. If the camera matters to you, the X300 Ultra is worth every rupee. If your budget doesn’t, the FE makes a compelling case.
