Redmi K90 Series to Debut in October With Flagship Upgrades

The upcoming Redmi K90 series is shaping up to be a major step-up for Redmi’s performance-oriented lineup. According to recent leaks, the series comprising at least a standard K90 and a Pro variant is expected to launch in October 2025 in China.

What We Know So Far

Leaks suggest the standard model may be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 or a closely related custom chipset, while the Pro variant is tipped to carry the next-gen Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip built on a 3nm process.
Display rumors point to flat panels with 2K resolution and a 120 Hz or higher refresh rate, avoiding curved edges for a cleaner design.
For battery and charging, reports mention capacities of around 7,000 mAh to 7,500 mAh, with 100W wired fast-charging and possibly 50W wireless charging on higher-end models.

Camera and Features

A standout upgrade in the Pro model is expected to be a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera a first for the Redmi K-series. Other key features include an ultrasonic under-display fingerprint sensor, USB 3.0 support for faster data transfer, stereo speakers, and a metal mid-frame for a more premium feel.

Launch Timing and Global Outlook

While the series is tipped to launch in China in October 2025, the global variant may arrive under a different brand name, possibly POCO, in early 2026. Redmi might also slightly increase the price compared to the K80 series, with estimates suggesting a launch price around $550–$700 for the Pro version.
