Leaks and industry whispers suggest Realme is gearing up to unveil the Realme Neo 8 as early as January 2026, positioning it as one of the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 5-powered phones of the new year and a potential rival to other upcoming performance-focused devices
According to reliable leaker Digital Chat Station, Realme is targeting a January launch for the Neo 8 in China, with the company likely to kick off its early-year lineup with this device before expanding availability to other markets.
The Realme Neo 8 is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, a high-end SoC that brings flagship-level performance to a broader price segment a move that would set the Neo 8 up to compete directly with rivals such as the OnePlus Ace 6T/15R and other Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 devices expected in early 2026.
Design and display leaks indicate the Neo 8 will feature a flat Samsung-made 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen with an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, promising a premium viewing experience and responsive biometric security under the glass.
One standout specification tipped for the Neo 8 is its massive ~8,000 mAh battery, which would be a significant leap over many competitors and deliver multi-day endurance, especially when paired with the efficient Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 platform.
Other rumored hardware highlights include a metal frame and glass back for a more premium build quality, IP68/IP69 dust and water resistance, and a 50 MP main camera, indicating Realme is aiming not only for performance and battery life but also solid everyday imaging.
On the software side, the phone is expected to launch with Android 16 layered with Realme UI 7 on top, keeping the user experience in line with other recent Realme devices.
In addition to the base Neo 8, reports suggest Realme may expand the lineup with variants such as a Neo 8 Turbo, a Neo 8 SE powered by Dimensity silicon, and even a Neo 8x later in the first half of 2026.
