OPPO A7 Pro Officially Listed With 8,000mAh Battery

OPPO has officially launched the A7 Pro in China, and the standout feature is a massive 8,000mAh battery nearly double what most mid-range phones ship with today. OPPO isn’t just leaning on the raw number either; the company says the battery is built to hold up over roughly 2,000 charge cycles and up to seven years of use before capacity noticeably drops off, positioning the phone as much on longevity as on daily battery life. That’s a considerable jump from the 4,800mAh cell in the previous Oppo F24 Pro, and it puts the A7 Pro in the same battery-first territory as rivals like the Vivo Y500 5G and its 8,200mAh pack. That focus on durability extends to the body itself, which carries an IP69K rating, meaning it can handle dust, high-pressure water jets, high-temperature water, and full immersion, a tougher standard than the usual IP68 rating most flagships settle for.

Display

The A7 Pro uses a 6.57-inch OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, support for 1.07 billion colors, and peak brightness reaching around 1,400 nits. It’s a genuinely capable screen for the segment, though early hands-on coverage notes the bezels are on the thicker side, which takes away a bit from the premium feel OPPO is going for elsewhere.

Performance and Software

Powering the A7 Pro is MediaTek’s Dimensity 6360 Max, paired with up to 8GB of RAM (expandable to 16GB via OPPO’s virtual RAM feature) and a 4,300mm² vapor chamber to help manage heat. The phone runs Android 16 with ColorOS 16 on top, and OPPO has built in AI-driven scam protection as a core feature rather than an afterthought AI Scam Call Warning flags suspicious calls, while a separate cross-app detection system watches for fraud patterns across different applications, including face-swap detection.

Cameras

The rear setup keeps things simple: a 50MP main sensor with autofocus and an f/1.9 aperture, backed by an LED flash, along with a secondary AI-assisted lens. Up front is an 8MP selfie camera. OPPO has added software extras like an AI Eraser tool, collage modes, and simultaneous front-and-rear recording, though the camera hardware itself is clearly not the phone’s main selling point compared with the battery and durability story.

Charging and Connectivity

Despite the huge battery, charging tops out at 45W across SuperVOOC, UFCS, and PPS standards, with 10W wired reverse charging also supported and OPPO says charging still works reliably down to -20°C. Connectivity covers 5G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, USB-C, GPS, and an IR blaster for controlling home appliances, plus a 300% super-volume audio mode aimed at noisy environments.

The A7 Pro goes on sale in China on September 11 at 10:00 AM local time, available in three finishes: Riding the Waves (white), Every Step Blossoms (pink), and Desert Brown. OPPO hasn’t confirmed a global launch yet, but a variant carrying model number CPH2931 has already cleared certification in Thailand, Malaysia, and the UAE, and shown up in India’s BIS database which has fueled speculation that it could arrive in India rebranded as the OPPO F35, similar to how OPPO has handled regional naming for other A-series phones in the past.
