Galaxy S23 Series Could Get Stable One UI 9 as Early as Next Week

Galaxy S23

Stable One UI 9, based on Android 17, may start reaching the Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra very soon. According to tipster @ya_sking12767 on X, distribution should begin next week, specifically on Monday or Tuesday. Sammy Fans, which reported the claim, expects a wider rollout by the end of October, probably alongside the latest security patch. Samsung hasn’t announced a date for the S23 series, and rollouts normally reach phones in stages that differ by model, region and carrier.

The S23 line has been testing the update for a while. A second One UI 9 beta arrived in mid-September, followed by a hotfix on September 23 in South Korea. It carried firmware ZZI9, weighed about 388.60MB and brought the September 2026 security patch, which Samsung described as a “security and stability” release. The stable build itself first reached the Galaxy S26 series, and since then the update has moved down to the Galaxy S24 in South Korea and the Galaxy S25 in India and Europe.

Those September releases were separate from the major upgrade, and the S23 series’ September patch carried no new features. One UI 9 is expected to be the last major Android upgrade for the S23 series.

The Galaxy S23 FE has a less certain timeline. Samsung Thailand’s rollout schedule originally listed it for “by October,” but the company later changed that to “later this year” without giving a date. That change applies to Thailand, and there is no reason to assume it applies elsewhere.

Once the update is available, open Settings, tap Software update, then Download and install. Samsung hasn’t published an S23-specific feature list, so newer Galaxy AI features may not all carry over.
