Galaxy S23 Series Gets Its September 2026 Security Patch

Samsung has released the September 2026 security update for the Galaxy S23, S23+, and S23 Ultra, now live for the international SM-S911B variant (build S911BXXSAFZI1) and US unlocked models (build S911U1UES8FZI1), both dated September 28 with the September 5 security patch.

This month’s package is a big one Samsung’s security bulletin covers 90 vulnerabilities total, split between 58 Google fixes, 31 Samsung Mobile fixes, and 1 Samsung Semiconductor fix, several rated Critical or High. Patched components include the DNG/JPEG image decoders, wpa_supplicant, Knox Vault, SystemUI, DualDAR, and Keymaster, among others. As usual, it’s a security-only release with no new features or interface changes attached.

Rollout is following Samsung’s normal staggered pattern; international and US variants are live now, while carrier-locked US units are reportedly starting with select networks before expanding further, so not seeing it immediately doesn’t mean anything’s wrong.

Worth keeping separate: this security patch isn’t the same as One UI 9. The S23 series is still working through its own One UI 9 beta program, with a second beta (firmware S91xBXXUAZZI8) focused on bug fixes having gone out recently in India that beta build didn’t carry September’s security patch, so the two updates are moving on their own independent tracks for now, the same split that’s played out on other Galaxy phones still waiting on their own One UI 9 timelines while picking up monthly security patches in the meantime.
