Samsung has released the second One UI 9.0 beta for the Galaxy S24 FE, arriving in India based on Android 17. It follows the phone’s first beta, which started in South Korea in early September before expanding to India as a hefty 3.45GB download.

These are the same four features Samsung added to the main Galaxy S24 series through its own Beta 2 update, so it’s worth being clear this is a separate rollout for the FE rather than the same update the S24 FE has its own beta track, distinct from the S24 and S24 Ultra, even though both are receiving nearly identical AI features around the same time. It’s a good sign Samsung isn’t keeping this generation of Galaxy AI locked to its newest flagship hardware.
Alongside the new features, Beta 2 addresses Bixby Vision translation errors, temporary Contacts app crashes, and Wi-Fi disconnection issues, on top of general stability improvements carried over from the first beta.
The S24 FE’s beta program has moved fairly quickly: development builds were spotted as early as June, the public beta opened in South Korea on September 2, expanded to India the next day, and Beta 2 followed on September 14. There’s still no confirmed stable release date. Samsung has the S24 FE down for seven generations of Android/One UI upgrades, so while One UI 9 is a meaningful update for the phone, it’s far from the last major version it’s expected to receive.
