Huawei has officially confirmed its next flagship series, the Huawei Pura 90 Pro series, which will launch on April 20 in China. What makes this launch a bit more interesting than usual is that the company has already shown the design and key details before the event, so there’s not much left hidden.
This time, the lineup is simple. There are three phones: Pura 90, Pura 90 Pro, and Pura 90 Pro Max. There’s no Ultra model like before. Instead, the Pro Max will be the top version. It feels like Huawei is trying to keep things less confusing and more focused.
The design is probably the first thing people will notice. The back has a triangular camera setup, which looks very different from most phones right now. The cameras are placed in a pyramid-style shape, and it gives the phone a slightly bold look compared to the usual round camera islands we see on many flagships. It’s the kind of design that will either stand out in a good way or feel a bit unusual, depending on personal taste.
Huawei is also offering some bright color options this time, not just plain black or white. So it’s clearly not trying to play safe with design.
On the hardware side, both the Pro and Pro Max are expected to go up to 16GB RAM and 1TB storage, which is basically top-end flagship level. The focus, though, is still cameras. Reports suggest a 200MP periscope zoom camera, which means long-distance shots could be a big selling point again for Huawei.
Overall, the Huawei Pura 90 Pro series feels like Huawei sticking to what it knows best: design that stands out and camera hardware that tries to push limits. It doesn’t look like a small update more like a clear attempt to keep its place in the high-end phone race.
