Oppo is done playing it safe. For the first time ever, the company is bringing its Ultra flagship to the global market and if the specs hold up, it might just be the most ambitious camera phone of 2026.
The Find X9 Ultra doesn’t try to hide what it is. That massive circular camera module on the back is a direct nod to Hasselblad’s professional camera aesthetic bold, purposeful, and a little intimidating. Pair that with a vegan leather back, industrial-grade finishes, and a new dedicated “Quick Button” for the camera, and Oppo is clearly signalling this isn’t just a spec sheet exercise. It’s a statement.
Yes, you read that right dual 200MP sensors. The main shooter and the periscope zoom both hit that ceiling, backed by a 50MP ultra-wide and a 50MP 10x long-range lens. Developed alongside Hasselblad, the system is tuned for colour accuracy and dynamic range, not just megapixel bragging rights. The optional external lens kit pushing to 300mm focal length is a first for a smartphone it’s the kind of accessory that blurs the line between phone and dedicated camera kit.
Under the hood, Oppo is going with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 the fastest chip you can put in an Android phone right now. The real story, though, is the battery. At around 7,050mAh, this is one of the largest cells ever fitted into a flagship-tier device. That pairs with ~100W wired charging and ~50W wireless, so even a massive battery doesn’t mean slow top-ups.
The ultra-premium Android market is getting crowded. Xiaomi, Samsung, and Vivo have all pushed hard on camera innovation this year. Here’s a quick look at where the X9 Ultra slots in:
The global debut of Oppo’s Ultra line on April 21 is one of the more significant Android launches in years.
