Google has officially launched Nano Banana Pro, its next-generation AI image generation model powered by Gemini 3 Pro. This upgrade brings more serious, studio-quality creative control, not just fun memes.
Here’s what’s new and why it’s a big deal:
What’s New in Nano Banana Pro
- Real-World Context & Smarter Visuals
The model can tap into Google Search to draw in real-time information. That means you can make infographics or diagrams that reflect live data like weather charts or sports info instead of static, made-up visuals. - Text That Actually Makes Sense
Text rendering has been a major problem in AI image generation. With Pro, Google has improved it a lot: the model can produce clean, legible text in a variety of fonts, textures, and languages making it great for posters, mockups, or localized designs. - Blend More, Stay Consistent
You can upload up to 14 reference images and the model will blend them into a single scene. Even more impressively, it can preserve the likeness of up to 5 different people, which is super useful for character sequences or storyboards. - Studio‑Grade Editing Controls
Users now have fine control: you can adjust camera angle, switch lighting (day/night), tweak focus, change color grading, and even add effects like bokeh. On top of that, output resolutions go up to 2K and 4K, and multiple aspect ratios are supported, ideal for both social media and print. - Transparency Built In
Google is serious about making sure people know when an image is AI-generated. Nano Banana Pro adds SynthID watermarks (invisible) so its own AI can recognize its work. For free and mid-tier users, there’s a visible “Gemini sparkle” watermark. Ultra-tier users can remove the visible watermark if they prefer a clean image.
