The OnePlus 15’s launch in China is just around the corner, with a global debut expected in mid-November. Ahead of its full unveiling, OnePlus has heavily teased one of its biggest highlights: the display. And from what’s been revealed, the new screen seems ready to raise the bar once again for flagship smartphones.

A Premium BOE Display

The OnePlus 15 features a cutting-edge panel developed in collaboration with BOE. The display will be officially showcased by BOE itself on October 14, highlighting the deep partnership between the two companies. OnePlus confirmed that the phone will feature a 165Hz refresh rate, a major step up from the 120Hz panel on the previous model. This promises smoother animations, better touch response, and a more fluid overall experience, especially for gamers.

Brighter and More Accurate Than Ever

According to OnePlus executives, the display delivers 13% higher brightness and 11.8% improved color accuracy and consistency compared to the OnePlus 13. While those numbers might seem small, they make a visible difference in real-world usage especially in outdoor lighting conditions or when editing photos and videos.

The display is also said to achieve true hardware-level 1 unit minimum brightness, certified by TÜV Rheinland. This means the screen can get extremely dim without losing color fidelity, making it ideal for late-night reading or low-light environments.

Ultra-Slim and Symmetrical Design

One of the biggest design highlights of the OnePlus 15 display is its ultra-slim bezels. Each side measures just 1.15mm, offering perfect symmetry and a sleek, premium appearance. This is one of the thinnest bezel designs ever on a OnePlus phone, rivaling even Samsung’s and Apple’s best displays.

Power Efficient and Long-Lasting

The company also claims a 10% reduction in power consumption and a 30% longer lifespan compared to the previous generation display. This improvement comes from the combination of BOE’s next-gen OLED materials and the custom Oppo P3 display chip, which optimizes frame transitions, brightness stability, and overall energy management.

The Oppo P3 chip further enhances responsiveness during high refresh rate usage, preventing flickering or dimming issues when switching between different frame rates. This makes the display not only fast but also reliable during heavy use.

Resolution Downgrade but Smarter Optimization

Interestingly, OnePlus has opted for a 1.5K resolution panel instead of the QHD+ seen on the OnePlus 13. While this might sound like a downgrade on paper, the decision likely aims to balance performance and battery life. The new display’s higher brightness, adaptive refresh rate, and better calibration could still deliver a sharper and more vibrant experience, despite the lower pixel count.

Performance Integration

The OnePlus 15 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, ensuring that the display performance is fully matched with next-level processing power. The combination of high refresh rate, advanced color accuracy, and AI-assisted image rendering from the chipset should make visuals incredibly lifelike and smooth.
