Apple’s public beta season is almost here. iOS 27 and macOS 27 public betas are expected to land in mid-July 2026, with the week of July 13 to 19 being the most commonly cited window across recent reports. Apple confirmed at WWDC 2026 that public betas would arrive in July, and the Apple Beta Software Program website already lists iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 as coming soon.
The full public beta rollout covers every major Apple platform simultaneously iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and HomePod software 27 are all expected around the same period. That’s a wide net, and it means anyone enrolled in Apple’s free Beta Software Program at beta.apple.com can get hands-on time with Apple’s 2026 software lineup well ahead of the September release.
The headline features in iOS 27 include enhanced Siri AI, Apple Intelligence improvements, a refined Liquid Glass interface, and Safari updates. macOS 27, named Golden Gate, brings the same Apple Intelligence features to the Mac alongside design refinements and deeper Siri integration. Cross-platform improvements hit Messages, Photos, Shortcuts, and parental controls as well.
Getting on the public beta is straightforward: sign into beta.apple.com with your Apple ID, enroll your device, then head to Settings, General, and Software Update once the build drops. That said, public betas are still pre-release software. Bugs, app compatibility issues, and occasional performance hiccups are part of the deal. Back up your device before installing, and if possible test on a secondary device rather than your daily driver.
The final public release of iOS 27 is expected in September 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 launch. Mid-July is just the beginning of a long beta cycle but it’s the part most people actually get to participate in.
