Google’s next major AI model is reportedly just days away. According to multiple reports citing unnamed sources, Gemini 3.5 Pro is targeting a July 17 launch after slipping from its original June window. Google has declined to comment publicly and hasn’t officially confirmed the date, the model name, or any specifications but the reporting from Business Insider and corroborating outlets makes the July timeline credible enough to take seriously.
The delay itself tells part of the story. Google reportedly pushed the release back by roughly a month to gather more feedback from early testers, tune the model further, extend pre-training, and sharpen benchmark performance ahead of what’s shaping up to be a competitive second half of 2026 with new models expected from OpenAI and Anthropic as well.
The rumored feature set is ambitious. Leaks point to a new architecture rather than an iteration on the Gemini 3.1 base, a 2-million token context window, a Deep Think reasoning layer, stronger coding and mathematical reasoning, improved image generation, and autonomous agent capabilities for multi-step workflows. None of that is verified, no official model card, no API documentation, no confirmed benchmarks. Anything circulating on social media should be treated as speculation until Google publishes something official.
If the model does land on July 17, availability is expected across the Gemini app, Google AI Studio, Vertex AI, and the Gemini API. Pricing hasn’t been announced either.
