Google’s August 12 Pixel launch event is exactly one month away, and the Pixel 11 Pro XL is already looking like one of the most thoroughly leaked phones of the year. While nothing is official until Google takes the stage in New York City, the picture that’s emerged from CAD renders, supply chain reports, and reliable leakers is detailed enough to paint a clear portrait of what’s coming.
The processor is where the biggest change lives. The Pixel 11 Pro XL is expected to run on the Tensor G6, built by TSMC on a 2nm process, a significant manufacturing jump from the Tensor G5. The move to TSMC and 2nm brings meaningfully better sustained performance, lower power consumption, and stronger on-device AI capabilities. A new Titan M3 security chip accompanies it. The Tensor G6 is the engine that makes everything else on this phone work better, from camera processing to Gemini AI features to battery efficiency.
Speaking of battery the capacity stays at 5,200mAh, matching the Pixel 10 Pro XL exactly. That might sound like a missed opportunity, but the Tensor G6’s efficiency gains are expected to deliver slightly better real-world endurance despite the unchanged cell size. Charging holds at 45W wired and 25W wireless with Qi2 support, alongside reverse wireless charging. No surprises there, but no step backward either.
The display is a 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED panel this time using Samsung’s M16 OLED generation, which brings improved efficiency and brightness over the previous panel. Resolution comes in at 2992 × 1344 with a 1 to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and peak brightness reportedly around 3,300 nits. Dimensions are essentially unchanged at 162.7 × 76.5 × 8.5mm, so if you know how the Pixel 10 Pro XL feels in hand, the 11 Pro XL will be familiar territory.
Cameras keep the same triple setup 50MP main, 48MP ultrawide, and 48MP 5x periscope telephoto but with new sensors expected underneath those familiar numbers. Better HDR, enhanced low-light performance, and continued 8K video recording round out the camera spec sheet. One interesting design detail from leaked CAD renders is the removal of the temperature sensor and its replacement with a Pixel Glow RGB notification light. Small change, but a notable one for anyone who used that sensor.
Software launches on Android 17 with seven years of OS and security updates guaranteed. Gemini AI integration runs deeper with the Tensor G6 underneath, covering voice processing, photo editing, Live Translate, and smarter camera enhancements throughout.
Rumored US pricing lands at $1,299, though Google hasn’t confirmed that figure. August 12 is the date that makes everything official.
