Signs are pointing to Samsung expanding its One UI 9 beta program beyond the Galaxy S26 series, and this time the mid-range Galaxy A56 looks like the next candidate. A dedicated One UI Beta Program section for the A56 has appeared on Samsung’s Community forum, and separately, beta firmware for the phone has turned up on Samsung’s own servers. Neither discovery is an official announcement, but together they’re a strong signal that testing is moving closer to a public rollout.
This isn’t the first hint of A56 development, either. Samsung has reportedly been working on One UI 9 for the phone since June, when firmware version A566BXXUBDZFB first surfaced. What’s changed now is the appearance of an actual beta program section, which is typically the step that precedes an open sign-up window rather than internal testing alone.
The A56 doesn’t appear to be an isolated case. Similar beta firmware has reportedly turned up for the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A54 too, suggesting Samsung may be preparing a broader push across its A-series lineup rather than a one-off test for a single model. That would mark a real shift in scope: Samsung’s original One UI 9 beta, announced back in May, launched exclusively for the S26 series, and it’s still running, having just reached its seventh beta build on August 28.
Timing-wise, there’s a reasonable case for an A-series expansion soon. Samsung has already stopped accepting new S26 beta testers, a sign that flagship testing is winding down toward a stable release. Whether that frees up Samsung’s testing pipeline for mid-range phones is speculation, not confirmation, since Samsung hasn’t announced a launch date or feature list for the A56 build.
If you own an A56, don’t expect every Galaxy AI feature seen on the S26 to carry over. Mid-range hardware typically means a trimmed-down feature set, even when the underlying software is the same.
