Samsung appears to be laying the groundwork for a Galaxy A35 One UI 9 beta, and the clearest sign yet is a dedicated beta section that has shown up for the device on Samsung’s own Community forum. Samsung typically stands up this kind of forum infrastructure just a couple of days before a public beta actually goes live, which pushes the A35 from “quietly being tested internally” to “likely getting a public beta very soon.”
The groundwork has been building for a while. A One UI 9 test build carrying the version A356NKSUAZZH5 was previously spotted on Samsung’s Korean servers, alongside similar test firmware for the A36, A56, and A57. An earlier development build, A356BXXUAEZF1/A356BOXMAEZF1, surfaced back in June, giving early confirmation that Android 17 work on the A35 had already started months before this latest sighting. None of that is new information on its own, but paired with the Community section appearing now, it reads as Samsung nearing the finish line rather than still in early testing.
What makes this notable is that the A35 launched back in 2024, and Samsung’s beta programs have traditionally leaned toward flagship S and Z devices rather than two-year-old mid-rangers. That pattern has already been breaking down this cycle; the beta wave that started with the Galaxy S25 series and expanded to the S25 FE and 2023 foldables has since rolled through the Galaxy A57, followed by the A56 and A36, plus the S24 FE and S23 series. Samsung has opened One UI 9 beta testing to more devices this round than it did for either One UI 8 or One UI 8.5, and the A35 joining next would extend that unusually broad rollout even further.
There’s no confirmed release date yet, and Samsung hasn’t published a device-specific changelog for the A35, so the usual One UI 9 additions a more flexible quick panel, expanded customization, and accessibility and productivity tweaks are expected rather than locked in for this particular phone. The countries are also still unclear; Samsung’s official expansion announcement for its 2025 flagships covered India, South Korea, the UK, and the US, but that list didn’t include the A35, and the firmware spotted so far has only been tied to Korean servers. Once the beta does open, joining will work the same way it has for every other device this cycle: open Samsung Members, find the One UI 9 Beta banner for the A35, register, then head to Settings > Software update > Download and install.
