Samsung has launched the Galaxy A08 in India, bringing the 4G phone to the market after it went official in select global markets last month. It comes in a single 4GB RAM and 64GB storage configuration for ₹18,499, in Dark Blue, Green and Silver, and is sold through Samsung’s online store, its exclusive stores and retail partners. That’s ₹5,000 more than the Galaxy A07, which currently costs ₹13,499 for the same memory and storage. Samsung has also teased 6,000mAh Galaxy M08 and F08 models for India, while a separate Galaxy A08 5G has been spotted in an IMEI database.

Samsung claims the Helio G99+ delivers up to 84% faster single-core CPU performance and up to 60% faster GPU performance than the Galaxy A06, and that video playback lasts about 22% longer. These are the company’s own comparisons, not independent benchmarks. The phone supports RAM Plus, which borrows some of the internal storage as virtual memory.

The phone’s software features include Circle to Search, Gemini, Perplexity, Quick Share and Modes and Routines. Samsung promises six major OS upgrades and six years of security updates, which is unusually long for an entry-level phone.
The Galaxy A08 builds on the Galaxy A07 4G with a few targeted changes.
| Feature | Galaxy A07 4G | Galaxy A08 |
| Display | 6.7-inch LCD, 90Hz | 6.7-inch LCD, 90Hz |

The larger battery and the higher IP rating are the biggest hardware changes. The HD+ resolution also means the screen won’t be as sharp as the Full HD+ panels on some rivals around this price.
