Galaxy A18

Samsung has started rolling out the October 2026 security patch to the Galaxy A18, which SamMobile describes as the phone’s first software update. According to SamMobile, the update arrives about a month after launch and was first reported on the Galaxy A18 4G/LTE in Thailand, with a wider rollout across markets reported. It is a security release, and no new features have been reported.

The October patch includes 62 security fixes, according to the report. Firmware numbers can differ between regional models, so A185GXXS1AZJ1 applies to a specific variant and other versions of the phone may get a different build.

The phone launched in Europe with an Exynos chip and runs One UI 9.0 based on Android 17. SamMobile says Samsung promises six major Android upgrades and six years of security updates. The same patch month is also reaching other devices, including the Galaxy S26 series in the US and Canada.

Because the rollout is phased, availability will vary by country and model. To check for the update, open Settings, tap Software update, then Download and install. Install only the update your phone is offered rather than firmware meant for another model.
