Samsung has started rolling out the October 2026 security update to the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra in the United States and Canada, with more countries expected to follow. The update is reported for both carrier-locked and factory-unlocked US models. It is a security-only release with no new One UI version or features.
The factory-unlocked US Galaxy S26 Ultra build is S948U1UES4BZIG, and other variants and carrier versions have their own builds and download sizes.

| First markets | US and Canada |
The patch fixes 62 issues, which matches the disclosed items in Samsung’s October 2026 security bulletin: 45 fixes from Google (9 critical, 33 high, 3 moderate) and 17 from Samsung (10 high, 7 moderate). The bulletin adds that some Samsung-specific items cannot be disclosed yet.
This isn’t the first time the October patch has shown up on the S26. Samsung reportedly pushed a One UI 9.0 build carrying it (S948BXXS4BZIG) to Europe on September 29, with India and Thailand following, the same day the stable One UI 9 update for the S26 reached India and Europe. The US and Canada release brings the same patch level to those markets, and the Galaxy S26 FE picked up its own October patch earlier this month.
None of this is the next major release. Samsung is already testing One UI 9.5 on the Galaxy S26, but it hasn’t announced a date.
To check for the update, open Settings, tap Software update, then Download and install, and restart the phone if prompted. Availability depends on the model, region and carrier.
