Stable One UI 9, based on Android 17, has started rolling out to the Galaxy S24 series in the United States. Owners first reported it in a Reddit thread on r/S24Ultra about the update arriving on T-Mobile, and Android Authority says users have also reported it on AT&T, with the screenshots showing the Galaxy S24 Ultra. Verizon and factory-unlocked S24 models weren’t mentioned in the reports, so the update shouldn’t yet be assumed to be available to every US owner.
| Detail | Galaxy S24 Ultra (US carrier) |
| Software | One UI 9.0, Android 17 |
| Firmware | S928USQU6EZIF |
| Download size | About 3,909.81MB |
| Security patch | September 5, 2026 |
| Reported carriers | T-Mobile, AT&T |
The firmware and size above are for the S24 Ultra. The S24 and S24+ may have different build numbers and package sizes, and people coming from the One UI 9 beta may see a smaller download. Samsung hadn’t yet published the changelog on its US device pages when the report went out.
This comes after the stable update reached the S24 series in South Korea, and it is the same One UI 9 release, so the features don’t change, though availability of Galaxy AI tools can vary by device and region. The same report says the factory-unlocked US Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 are also getting it, with builds F956U1UEU4EZIH and F741U1UEU4EZIH, after their own South Korea release. Samsung had already begun the US rollout with newer devices, including the Galaxy S25 series, Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7.
To check for the update, open Settings, tap Software update, then Download and install. Use Wi-Fi and back up your data first, since the package is close to 4GB.
