Galaxy S26 Series Could Get a Major Price Hike

Samsung has revised prices across its entire Galaxy S26 lineup in India. A leaked internal price-revision document, shared by tipster Abhishek Yadav on X, suggests the company has applied a flat Rs 20,000 hike on the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra, effective September 18. With this change, the base Galaxy S26 now starts above the Rs 1 lakh mark, and the top-end Ultra configuration crosses Rs 2 lakh. Samsung hasn’t put out an official statement yet, so treat this as a leak for now.

Earlier reports had pointed to a smaller, Rs 12,000 increase limited to the base Galaxy S26, effective September 20. That figure looks like it’s been overtaken by this fuller leak, which covers the entire lineup at a flat Rs 20,000 each and brings the change forward to today.

The hike tracks with rising component costs across the industry, with LPDDR5 RAM prices climbing sharply as supply shifts toward AI data centres. Samsung has already raised prices on several Galaxy A, F, and M series phones in India through the year for the same reason. It also puts the S26 on more equal footing with the iPhone 17, whose India price recently rose from Rs 82,900 to Rs 99,900. The Galaxy S26 launched at Rs 87,999 in February, so buyers today would pay Rs 20,000 more for the same phone.
