The Galaxy A36 wasn’t originally expected to join Samsung’s One UI 9 beta program at all, so its second beta arriving less than two weeks after the first is a fast follow-up for a phone that almost missed out entirely. Build A366EXXUCZZIA is now live in India at 561.55MB, confirmed through Samsung’s community post.

Where Beta 1 was mostly about the A36 simply getting Android 17 and One UI 9 access in the first place, Beta 2 is a narrower release: improved camera stability, with no new camera feature attached to it, plus the September 2026 security patch, which addresses 90 issues carried over from the previous firmware. It’s a maintenance update rather than anything feature-driven.
The two betas have landed close together. Beta 1 arrived September 3 at around 2.38GB, carrying the August patch and its 56 fixes on a chipset already proven in phoonomo’s own A36 benchmark testing. Beta 2 followed roughly two weeks later, a noticeably quicker cadence than a lot of Samsung’s other beta programs this cycle.
India remains the only confirmed market for Beta 2 right now, though Samsung is expected to widen that within hours based on how earlier A36 rollouts have gone. There’s no confirmation yet for Pakistan or other regions, so it’s not accurate to call this a global rollout at this stage. Enrolled users can check manually through Settings > Software update > Download and install.
Worth keeping separate from all this: the A36 also went through a One UI 8.5 beta earlier in the year, announced back in April and limited to India at the time. That’s a different program from the current Android 17-based One UI 9 beta, and only the latter is relevant to this update. Samsung’s stable One UI 9 rollout has already begun elsewhere, starting with the Galaxy S26 series on September 16, and the Galaxy A56 picked up its own Beta 2 in Korea on the same day as the A36’s India release. No stable date has been set for the A36 itself yet.
