Early leaks for the OnePlus 16, the next flagship from OnePlus, are starting to surface well ahead of its expected late 2026 launch and paint a picture of significant upgrades over its predecessor.
According to multiple reports, the OnePlus 16 is tipped to feature a flat 1.5 K OLED display with an ultra-high refresh rate of around 240 Hz for smoother scrolling and gaming performance, a notable jump over the OnePlus 15’s 165 Hz panel.
Under the hood, the phone is expected to be powered by the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chipset, possibly the Pro variant, paired with advanced LPDDR6X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, aimed at delivering flagship-level performance and improved efficiency.
Camera upgrades appear to be a major focus this time. Leaks suggest the OnePlus 16 could come with dual or multiple 200 MP sensors, including a 200 MP primary camera and a 200 MP telephoto unit, promising better detail, zoom capabilities, and overall imaging performance compared with the OnePlus 15.
Battery life is also expected to see a substantial leap. Multiple sources claim the device will pack a massive 9,000 mAh “Glacier” battery, potentially offering endurance well above current flagships, along with fast charging support.
Other rumored upgrades include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor, enhanced speakers, and possibly further refinements in software and camera tuning.
