A leaked benchmark is pointing to some seriously big numbers for Qualcomm’s next flagship chip. A test attributed to the unreleased Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro reportedly hit 4,835,412 points in AnTuTu, which if it holds up is roughly 20.7% higher than the current Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 record of about 4,005,248, set by the REDMAGIC 11 Pro. Take that percentage with a grain of salt though, benchmark leaks like this depend heavily on cooling, memory config, and whatever device it was actually run on, so treat it as a data point, not a promise.
What’s driving the jump seems to be the GPU more than anything else. The Gen 6 Pro is reportedly moving to an Adreno 850, up from Adreno 840, and that graphics upgrade appears to be where most of the score improvement is coming from. It’s also expected to be built on TSMC’s newer 2nm-class N2P process, a real jump from the 3nm process used on the current Gen 5, and interestingly, leaked die-size numbers actually put the new chip slightly larger despite the smaller node, suggesting Qualcomm packed in more than just a shrink.
Other rumored upgrades include a new 2+3+3 CPU core layout using Qualcomm’s third-gen Oryon cores, support for LPDDR6 memory on the Pro variant specifically, and AI-driven gaming features aimed at boosting frame rates without simply brute-forcing it with raw power. None of this is officially confirmed by Qualcomm yet.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit is reportedly happening next month, which is typically where these chips get their real unveiling, with phones using it expected to start showing up toward the end of 2026. If the benchmark numbers hold anywhere close to what’s leaked, this could be one of the bigger generational jumps Qualcomm’s made in a while, just don’t expect every phone running it to hit that exact score.
