Samsung just added a new entry point to its Galaxy Book6 lineup, and the pitch is straightforward: a 14-inch laptop starting at $799.99 that trades premium positioning for accessibility. Announced September 1, this isn’t a replacement for the existing Galaxy Book6 family, it’s a cheaper sibling built for people who want the Galaxy ecosystem experience without paying for a workstation-tier machine.
Specs Built for Everyday Use, Not Power Users
The specs make that positioning clear. Samsung is offering Intel Core 3 and Core 5 processors depending on configuration, paired with an NPU rated up to 15 TOPS, enough to handle Galaxy AI features locally but nowhere near the horsepower Samsung reserves for its higher-end Book models. RAM tops out at 16GB LPDDR5X, storage caps at 512GB PCIe, and the whole thing weighs 1.35kg at just 15.7mm thick. Samsung is explicit about the target use case here too: web browsing, document work, video calls, multitasking, the kind of everyday computing that doesn’t need a discrete GPU or a maxed-out chip.
Battery Life and Display
Battery life is the number Samsung’s leaning on hardest, claiming up to 25 hours on a single charge alongside 45W fast charging that reportedly gets you to 33% in half an hour. That 25-hour figure is Samsung’s own testing claim rather than an independently verified result, so real-world numbers will vary with actual usage, but it’s a notably aggressive claim for a laptop at this price point.
The screen is a 14-inch 1920×1200 LCD panel running a 16:10 aspect ratio at 350 nits, with anti-reflective coating built in. That taller aspect ratio gives you more vertical space than a standard 16:9 panel, which matters more than it sounds like for anyone scrolling documents or browsing the web most of the day. Samsung also introduced a new Violet Silver finish alongside the standard Gray option, marking the first time that color appeared on a Galaxy Book.
The Real Selling Point: Galaxy Ecosystem Integration
Where this laptop actually differentiates itself from any similarly priced Windows machine is the ecosystem integration. Samsung’s bundling in Multi Control for sharing a keyboard and mouse across Galaxy devices, Second Screen support for using a compatible Galaxy Tab as an extended display, Quick Share, Storage Share, and Link to Windows for pulling phone features onto the laptop directly. None of that is unique to this model, Samsung’s other Galaxy Books have it too, but it’s a much stronger pitch at $799.99 than it would be on a $1,500 machine, since it gives budget buyers a real reason to stay inside Samsung’s ecosystem rather than default to whatever’s cheapest.

The Galaxy Book6 ships with Windows 11 Home or Pro depending on configuration, and it’s set to hit Samsung.com and Amazon in the US by October 5. Pricing outside the US lands close to the same mark, £799 in the UK and roughly $799 globally, so this isn’t a US-only budget play.
The bigger read here is that Samsung isn’t trying to out-spec anyone at this price tier. It’s betting that Galaxy phone owners will pay a modest premium for a laptop that talks to their phone properly, and that’s a harder pitch to copy than raw performance numbers ever were.
