The Galaxy S26 FE is picking up its October 2026 security patch in the US, carrying firmware S741USQS2AZI5. Verizon’s own update page confirms the release, currently limited to carrier-locked units on select networks.

This one’s squarely about security rather than anything new. Samsung hasn’t published the full October bulletin yet detailing exactly how many vulnerabilities this closes, so there’s no exact number to put against it, but for reference, the previous September update for the S26 FE addressed 90 fixes after rolling out first in South Korea. There’s nothing in the current changelog pointing to a new One UI feature, camera tweak, charging change, or performance adjustment, this is maintenance, not an upgrade.
Worth being clear on the software baseline too: the S26 FE already launched on Android 17 and One UI 9 from day one, so this isn’t that upgrade arriving late, it’s just the monthly patch layered on top of software the phone already shipped with.
International models are moving more slowly. SamMobile’s firmware tracker has the international SM-S741B variant on build S741BXXS2AZI5 dated September 20, with Kazakhstan the market currently showing it, while India and several other countries were still sitting on the older S741BXXU1AZHD build as of the last check. So this is very much a staggered rollout rather than something landing everywhere at once.
Checking manually works the usual way, Settings > Software update > Download and install, and if nothing’s showing up yet, it simply hasn’t reached your specific region or carrier. Given how actively Samsung has been pushing updates across the S26 lineup this past month, between the stable One UI 9 rollout and now this patch, broader availability shouldn’t be too far behind.
