The Galaxy S25 FE has joined the stable One UI 9 rollout in the United States, bringing Android 17 to Samsung’s Fan Edition phone. Samsung’s official firmware tracker lists the U.S. release date as October 5, 2026, and the update is confirmed for the U.S. model, including carrier versions.

Verizon was actually first, releasing the same software version, S731USQU9CZIF, on October 2, and its release notes specifically confirm Android 17 and One UI 9 features. It’s the same One UI 9 update that began reaching the Galaxy S25 series, Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 in the U.S. just days earlier, so the S25 FE was the one device in that group still waiting.
Two of the features Samsung highlights for the S25 FE are worth calling out. Now Nudge now reaches beyond the keyboard, with suggestions able to appear in conversation notifications, in a floating button at the bottom-right of the screen and in more contextual situations, such as suggesting an address or saving a location to Google Maps. Interpreter’s Conversation Mode also gets a more useful interface that lets you scroll back through the conversation history while you keep talking. The S25 FE is also officially listed among the devices that support Privacy Alerts, which uses on-device AI to flag risks like unnecessary background permission requests from apps.
This is a major Android version upgrade, so anyone moving straight from One UI 8.5 should expect a large download, with reports putting the package at over 3GB. Beta participants receive a considerably smaller update. The S25 FE was part of the One UI 9 beta in select markets including the U.S., UK, India and Korea.
The rollout isn’t global yet. After the initial phase in South Korea, the stable S25 FE update has now reached the U.S., and more international markets are expected to follow as Samsung expands One UI 9. Because the rollout is staged, it may take a while to show up on every U.S. variant. You can check manually under Settings > Software update > Download and install.
